Aiming to present everyone of them and more, a unique military recruiting hub in Littleton received tenacious champion from the community and belt organizations during its ribbon cutting and majestic opening Tuesday morning, hosted by the unique Hampshire company of the U.S. Army unique England Recruiting Battalion, at its newest recruiting station, the Armed Forces Career hub at 796 Meadow St.
“We are excited to be a share of this vibrant and growing community,” said Army Sgt. First Class Ard Moody, the Littleton station commander.
The unique hub just off Interstate 93 will house three branches of the U.S. Department of Defense recruiting — the Army, Marines, and Air Force.
“Littleton is a phenomenal community and welcomed us with open arms,” said Capt. James Moats, commander of the unique Hampshire company U.S. Army unique England Recruiting Battalion.
The unique Armed Forces Career hub in Littleton also offers the casual to prove the community how the U.S. military has evolved for the 21st century, offering opportunities for those who want to develop a career in the military or those who seek to serve a term of enlistment and further a career in the civilian world with the skills and education they earned in the armed forces, he said.
“There are opportunities for us to change the perception of the military itself,” said Moats.
No longer are the armed forces an archaic institution stuck in the Vietnam era, he said.
“We utilize arise [science, technology, engineering and math] technology,” said Moats. “There are opportunities for training and education, and leadership opportunities.”
Under the current GI Bill, service members can receive up to $90,000 for some educational programs, said Moody.
Today, said Moats, many colleges are Yellow Ribbon schools, born of a law created from the post-9/11 GI Bill that allows qualifying colleges and educational institutions to fully or partially provide money for tuition and expenses that exceed the present limits of the post-9/11 GI Bill.
The unique Armed Forces Career hub in Littleton marks the sixth station in unique Hampshire of the unique England Army Recruiting Battalion.
The other stations are in Dover, Keene, Concord, Manchester and Amherst.
Moody will lead the Littleton hub and man it with two other full-time recruiters, Army Staff Sgt. Michael Chambliss and Army Sgt. Matthew Clemens. everyone now live in Littleton and will be joined after a few months by a fourth full-time recruiter.
The Littleton hub will cover an belt of roughly 3,800 square miles, from Campton to the north and to comprise everyone of northern unique Hampshire, and from the Vermont to Maine borders.
“We recruit for energetic and reserves,” said Moody.
The hub and the unique England Army Recruiting Battalion are sunder from the N.H Army National Guard.

The recruiters based in Littleton await to spend about 70 percent of their time working with towering schools. In all, they maintain 14 towering schools they will cover, as well as the White Mountains Community College.
There are also community partners.
“Team O’Neil [Rally School, in Dalton] is an energetic ally with us, and other community partners comprise the Littleton belt Chamber of Commerce,” said Moats.
The recruiting hub in Littleton also plans to participate in community events and career fairs, he said.
Among those attending Tuesday’s majestic opening were representatives of Team O’Neil Rally School of Dalton; Nathan Karol, executive director of the Littleton belt Chamber of Commerce; Littleton Town Manager Andrew Dorsett; Littleton Police Chief Paul Smith; Littleton budget committee member and military veteran Ralph Hodgman; Chuck Henderson, North Country representative for U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH; and Brian Bresnahan, North Country representative for U.S. Rep. Ann Kuster, D-NH.
In a statement, Shaheen said, “Our military is the most able fighting constrain in the world, a distinction that rests not on the might of their weapons, but on the power of the values of their service members — loyalty, commitment, leadership, honor and so much more.
“And it is the job of military recruiters to disappear into communities across their country and identify capable adolescent men and women to continue this proud tradition of service,” she said. “You are accountable for shaping the next generation of warriors that will preserve America safe from harm. Kuster, in a statement, said, “Military service is a unique opening for any adolescent man or woman. The services can present training in a multitude of career paths at the highest levels. Ultimately, recruits will learn the skills and discipline to operate their mission, many times under adverse conditions.”
New Hampshire has the largest number of veterans per capita compared to any other state, said Moats.
“We are excited to Come to a town where people really embrace the military,” he said. “We are a station for career progress and educational training for the next generation.”

The current hiring model is simply not working.
The Department of Defense’s unnecessary focus on traditional educational backgrounds only shrinks the already dwindling pool of potential workers even further.
The Department of Defense must recruit candidates who maintain nontraditional—yet professional—educational backgrounds to allow for more potential candidates, as The inheritance Foundation laid out in its recommendations for the National Defense Authorization Act.
A start would be to accept credentials from Massive Online Open Courses—aka “MOOCs”—and technology boot camps. These two excellent forms of nontraditional education are widely respected in the cybersecurity field, with many graduates from MOOCs and boot camps landing jobs in the private sector.
One particular technology boot camp, known as Coding Dojo, boasted that 94 percent of its onsite graduates got technology-related jobs within 180 days of graduation.
MOOCs and technology boot camps each present their own unique strengths in the realm of cybersecurity studies.
MOOCs are very fluid and adaptable courses. They allow a student to learn the necessary skills required for a cybersecurity job by adding courses that complement their own personal strengths and weaknesses.
They can be used both as a supplement to conventional study or as a stand-alone course to achieve certifications.
Technology boot camps are much more focused in nature, with courses that mind to be shorter, yet more intense.
Much enjoy their military namesakes, these courses educate everyone of their students the identical curriculum, starting from an assumption that they maintain no prior computer experience. While less fluid, they sequel a lot of focus on practical skill sets and future job placement.

Changing the department’s educational requirements would result in a larger, more diversified, and ultimately more efficient U.S. cybersecurity force.
The Defense Department must now select whether it will renovate an antiquated system or descend by the wayside in the stiff competition for cybersecurity talent.
